Speech Therapy

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides support for the development of pre-school level language and communication skills. The SLP will:

  • Assess a child's ability to express himself and understand things said to him (expressive and receptive communication)
  • Identify needs and develop/recommend strategies surrounding the development of a skill
  • Identify alternative communication strategies i.e. a child who is non-verbal may express himself through sign language, gestures, or picture communication.
  • Be involved with individual program plans, lesson adaptations, and classroom activities
