Speech Therapy
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides support for the development of pre-school level language and communication skills. The SLP will:
- Assess a child's ability to express himself and understand things said to him (expressive and receptive communication)
- Identify needs and develop/recommend strategies surrounding development of a skill
- Identify alternative communication strategies i.e. a child who is non-verbal may express himself through sign language, gestures or picture communication.
- Be involved with individual program plans, lesson adaptations, and classroom activities
